Positive Life Changes for Better Skin
As you’ve heard before at some point in your life, you must live a healthy lifestyle to minimize your chances of getting sick and to look and feel better. It is very true and NOW is the time to make changes in your life to better YOU. We’re about to enter a new year so you should have no excuses. But here’s the best news – Don’t wait till the new year to start living your life better. Start now and your acne will undoubtedly start to heal as well! Here are some changes to start making today:
Get more sleep
Sleep is one of the best beauty treatments you can follow. Your skin restores itself when you are sleeping so make sure to cleanse your face every night before bed, moisturize, use a topical acne treatment if needed, and get to bed. 8 hours of sleep are needed to get the job done right. Turn off any technological device at least 30 minutes before bed to meditate and set your mind at ease with no distractions. Your mind and spirit will feel better too… Then you can face the world and start following your dreams.
Reduce your intake of refined sugars
Sugars can irritate your acne and cause more inflammation because due to the glucose boosting your insulin level, triggering your hormones to become off balance which can lead to a growth of pore-clogging cells. Yikes! Avoid soda, candy, cookies, cakes, etc… Eat natural fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins.
Drink more water!
Water flushes out all the nasty toxins and waste from your body more quickly. It will also keep your internal body cool and hydrated, making your skin appear and feel more hydrated which is important for good skin.
Exercising 4-5 times a week will not only make you more fit, it will increase circulation in your body, allowing your pores of your skin to open to release oils and bacteria that are trapped in them. You are also sweating all the toxins out of your body at a much faster rate.
Exfoliate your skin
Gently exfoliating your skin with a cleanser or that has micro beads within is a wonderful way to slough off dead skin cells that build on your skin. If you don’t exfoliate, you are trapping all the oil and bacteria in your pores under the layers of dead skin. Exfoliating regularly will also make room for fresh, renewed skin to surface when the cellular build-up is exfoliated away.
