The Top 4 Home Spa Treatments for Your Skin
A day at the spa is a wonderful indulgence that people should take advantage of whenever the opportunity is available. However, in this time of economic hardship, many are cutting back but that doesn’t mean you can’t pamper yourself! There are a few treatments you can do to indulge yourself at home for a fraction of the price. Check out these four home spa treatments that you can make yourself and they all cost less than $2 each.
1. Citrus Rub for Dry Skin
Cut a lemon or an orange in half and place it on your dry patches of skin. Elbows are a great place to try this out. After the fruit has been on the skin for 3-5 minutes, dab on a tiny amount of baby oil and feel the difference! This treatment should be done every other day and the results will be long-lasting.
2. Face Glow
All you need is one small orange, some cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, and a small amount of baking soda. Zest the orange and squeeze the juice from the orange. Combine the zest and the juice with ¼ cup of the olive oil and 1 T. of baking soda in a glass or plastic jar that you can seal, and use as a lotion and apply to your face daily. Apply in circular motions and rinse it off gently with warm water when you are done. This recipe can last up to 2 weeks if you seal the jar and leave it at room temperature.
3. Tightening Mask
For this treatment, you need half of a lemon and an egg yolk. Cut out just a small bit of pulp from the lemon so that the yolk can sit inside the lemon. Place in the refrigerator for 10-12 hours, and use this mask right before bed. Allow it to sit on your face for 15 minutes, and then gently rinse off with warm water. Your skin will be exfoliated, toned, and tightened from this simple and inexpensive recipe.
4. Oatmeal Body Rub
Combine 1T old-fashioned oatmeal with 3 T plain organic yogurt and 1 T honey. Apply this mixture to your skin and let sit for 5 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. You will instantly feel the softness of incredibly smooth, moisturized skin beneath your fingertips.
Look and Feel Great For Less
These simple treatments can be done at home for a lot less money than you would spend at a spa, with the same amazing results. See for yourself and enjoy…
