Herbalife Nutrition Teas: Ingredients, Benefits And Flavors

You have to drink water every day. You may not think about the importance of hydration regularly, but we simply can’t function without water. Eight glasses of water per day is the recommended amount for an average person who doesn’t exercise. Those who live an active lifestyle should consume at least 12 glasses per day, if not more. It’s important to consider there’s water in the food we eat daily, but most of our body’s hydration comes through daily beverage consumption.

With sufficient hydration, the human body can function optimally. But without sufficient hydration, the body suffers in a variety of ways. People may feel the effects of insufficient hydration through headaches, dizziness, lethargy, poor concentration, and dryness of the mouth.

In the busy pace of modern life, people often opt for artificially-sweetened beverages or high-calorie caffeinated drinks that contain other unwanted ingredients. Liquid calories, super-sized beverages, and high fructose corn syrup contribute to increasing the global megatrend of overweight and obesity.

Drinking plenty of water is essential, but there are other healthy sources of liquids that can contribute to our hydration. One option is tea, the most widely consumed beverage in the world after water.

What Are the Benefits of Tea?

Including a cup of tea in your daily diet can bring along several benefits. Green, black, and herbal teas contain flavonoids and phytonutrients that can provide you with antioxidant support and boost a feeling of energy or relaxation.

Green Tea and Black Tea Benefits

Both green and black tea are made from the Camellia sinensis plant and are rich in flavonoids. These natural plant-based compounds help to support both brain and cardiovascular health. Flavonoids, which are a type of phytonutrients, help to fight oxidative stress in the body.

  • Green tea is packed with these health-promoting polyphenols which can act as antioxidants.
  • Black tea can provide an increased feeling of energy because of the natural caffeine. It also contains theaflavins, a unique group of polyphenols that may support cardiovascular health.

Herbal Tea Benefits

Herbal teas are made from a range of various herbs, plants, fruits, and spices. They provide similar benefits to green and black tea but without caffeine. Some benefits include:

  • Promoting relaxation and restful sleep
  • Helping to soothe the digestive system

How Our Tea Extraction Process Works

Our extracts are made with rigorous high-quality standards from well-established suppliers and a team of experts. At our Herbalife Innovation & Manufacturing (H.I.M.) facility in Changsha, China, we ensure raw materials match our strict specifications to deliver rigorous quality standards.

There are three stages to produce our popular tea products:

  1. Sourcing. Quality begins with using the very best ingredients, which is why we source our tea from farmers who have been harvesting tea for generations in one of the oldest and most fertile regions: the Fujian Province in China.

Botanical identification. To validate all our ingredients’ integrity, we use technologically advanced equipment and Botanical DNA Identification processes to confirm the authenticity, origin, and quality of each botanical ingredient.

  • Extraction and filtration. At this stage, dried tea leaves are mixed with hot water, resulting in the tea extract. The tea extract is then filtered for clarity.
  • Evaporation. In this second stage, the extract is evaporated using vacuum and heat, creating the concentrated native extract.
  • Drying. Finally, by using air to dry the concentrated native extract, a dry powder version is created.

This comprehensive process is a testament to our commitment to high-quality standards that consumers can trust.
