How To Protect Your Child Inside The House And Out

One of the most important functions that parents must do is protect your children at home and away from home. And keeping them safe at home is a very difficult task. The home is where small children or regardless of age, linger and play the whole day, with lots of activities they will be doing, they are prone to small wounds like cuts and scratches.

Pharmaceutical company Glenmark Philippines conducted a training last August 24, 2018 about basic of wound care for house helps through its online wound care advocacy site

In partnership with, the event entitled “Yaya Does Monterssori” provided training for an integral person in the household – the “yaya” – for them to gain knowledge on how to apply basic first aid treatment on cuts, scrapes and insect bites on kids.

The activity educate the “yaya” on how to handle kids’ skin problems especially during travels, and also got to know more about “Foskina”, Glendmark Philippines’ newest topical ointment treatment for common skin problems, particularly among kids. There was also a segment on what the ideal contents of a first-aid-kit should have, whether for use at home or when travelling.

They was also introduced to the various materials and other suitable activities per age group with the help of Montessori families and educators. They also learned how the Montessori philosophy on child development can be adopted by the yaya to help and the child.

There was also a special segment courtesy of that educated the parents and other child caregivers on basic child and infant safety methods. Dr. Theresa Joy Sto Domingo, the chairman of the Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center (VRPMC) Emergency Medical Consultants and is highly trained on handling various emergency medical cases and performing emergency medical procedures lead the special segment.

When the parents are away, the yaya is the one in charge with the kids’ welfare and safety at home. They are tasked to makes their wards’ play and environment as safe as possible. But that is why certain events called “accidentes”. It can be prevented but it doesn’t mean it will not happen. Best thing to be well prepared and well equiped when these eventualities occures.
