Disasters often strike without warning, leaving behind not just physical damage but emotional and financial hardship. In these difficult moments, the compassion and support of others become a lifeline—proof that even the smallest gesture can bring hope. Understanding this urgent need, M Lhuillier stepped forward to take decisive action. Partnering with local officials and dedicated volunteers, the team mobilized a relief operation that reached 250 households in Brgy. Mana, Sitio Pagatpat. This relief operation provided immediate comfort and essential supplies to families grappling with the aftermath of severe flooding. More than just aid, it was a reaffirmation of M Lhuillier’s deep commitment to community care, resilience, and the Filipino spirit of bayanihan.
Last January 13, 2025, a heartfelt relief operation took place in Brgy. Mana, Malita, Davao Occidental, to support families devastated by the severe flooding that hit the region on December 27, 2024. This disaster, caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), resulted in widespread flooding and landslides, leaving approximately 800 families displaced. According to the Office of Civil Defense-Davao, three barangays in Malita were particularly impacted, with around 877 families urgently needing help.

Thanks to Chrestian Amor, the Branch Manager of ML Malita, the team was able to connect with the local government unit of Brgy. Mana. This partnership made it possible for M Lhuillier to deliver much-needed relief goods to the community. To ensure a smooth and organized distribution, Ma’am Soly Cameros, a teacher at Benjamin National High School, played a key role by issuing claim stubs, ensuring that each family received the aid they needed.
The operation received invaluable support from Ma’am Kathleya Mae Pearl Tabora, M Lhuillier’s President for the Davao Region, and her dedicated team: RJ Tabugon, John Arnel Desierto, Julie Mae Yap, Dexter Magno, Angelyn Castanares, and Bengie Franklin Ramos. Their hard work and commitment were evident as they coordinated the distribution of essential goods to the families in need.

The relief operation was met with overwhelming gratitude from the community. Many residents expressed their appreciation for the timely assistance and continued support during times of crisis particularly to M Lhuillier. The relief goods brought a sense of hope and comfort to the people of Brgy. Mana, reassuring them that they are not alone in their struggle.
As the residents of Brgy. Mana work to rebuild their lives after the devastating floods, the unwavering support from M Lhuillier, local officials, and volunteers highlights the power of community and solidarity. The people of Davao Occidental can take solace in knowing that their neighbors and organizations like M Lhuillier are always ready to lend a helping hand when it’s needed the most.
Through this relief operation, M Lhuillier has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting communities affected by disasters and creating a lasting positive impact.
